Monday morning, the marine engineering equipment was ready for pickup, and our haulier had two trucks waiting to be loaded at the supplier’s facility.
Monday afternoon, the cargo was delivered directly into Saudi Arabian airlines to allow time for their checks and planning.
Tuesday morning, we had cleared the export through customs and the cargo was already in transit to Amsterdam, the consignment later connected on its planned flight to DMM on the Friday.
Behind closed doors the Air Export team rushed around making calls to numerous hauliers in the hope that one would be able provide two trucks at such short notice during a period of driver shortages… On this occasion our wide range of haulier partnerships prevailed!
At the same time, also reaching out to Saudi airlines to ensure the space was confirmed and that the cargo would not suffer any delays.
One of the last hurdles the team faced was UK Customs wanting to inspect the export documents prior to the departure from LHR, luckily this was processed smoothly and the shipment was customs in cleared in time to meet the truck to Amsterdam.
